Thursday evening was a cold wintery summer evening in San Francisco and after a very busy day coming home to cook was out of the question yet I wanted something really good and comforting for dinner. We decided on “the truck” Spencer On The Go, so after my day and Bart trip to 24th street I asked the husband to pick me up so that we could be the first in line promptly at 6:00pm on 7th and Folsom at the Spencer On The Go Truck.
We arrived at the spot precisely at 6:00pm we saw the truck parked in the parking lot of the Jiffy Lu
be and we were happy. Freezing we got out of the car approached the truck not yet set up to see what we could do about placing our order. It appears that there were a couple of non foodie idiot parked in the two parking spaces closes to Folsom street (leased by the truck) so the truck could not set up. We set in our car thinking of other places we might forage dinner for the night and decided to wait it out for a few more minutes and after 20 minutes the truck guy decided to plug up the generator and set up shop.
Side bar: there are not many places that I will sit around or stand in line for but this place is special
I tied a scarf around my neck and went to the truck to check out the menu and we made our decision; for me it was the slider with truffle emulsion and the halibut soup and for my guy it was the lamb cheeks, for dessert we ordered two cookies. So with our food in tow we drove the few
blocks home to our warm abode for dinner. My guy opened a nice bottle of wine to go along with our meal, slid in a nice CD (Alfredo Rodrigeuz - thank you DP!), platted our food and we had a very lovely tasty dinner!

My burger was awesome, the bread was crispy and the butter lettuce and water crest was the perfect accoutrement to the sandwich. My guy gobbled up the lamb cheeks and we shared the soup - - we LOVE Chez Spencer and Spencer On The Go as well!

What a great, cozy evening, especially after the week you had. The food looks amazing. Somehow, I have still never made it to either Chez Spencer or Spencer on the Go.
